Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Pipe wrench
- Level
- Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
- Pipe cutter
- Tape measure
- Gas leak detector solution
- Pressure gauge
Step-by-Step Installation
- Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, access to gas supply, and proximity to water lines. Must be installed on a non-combustible surface.
- Remove Packaging: Remove all shipping materials and protective covers from the water heater.
- Gas Connection: Connect to appropriate gas supply line using approved gas piping. Apply pipe joint compound suitable for gas connections.
- Water Connections: Connect cold water supply and hot water outlet using appropriate fittings. Install isolation valves on both lines.
- Vent System: Install approved PVC or CPVC vent piping according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
- Condensate Drain: Connect condensate drain line to approved drain or neutralization kit as required by local codes.
- Electrical Connection: Connect to 120V, 60Hz grounded electrical outlet. Unit requires electrical power for controls and ignition.
- Test Run: Fill system with water, check for leaks, test gas connections for leaks, and perform initial startup procedure.

Key Features
Condensing Technology
Advanced condensing design captures additional heat from exhaust gases, achieving up to 98% thermal efficiency for significant energy savings.
Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger
Durable stainless steel construction provides superior corrosion resistance and long-lasting performance in demanding water conditions.
Modulating Burner
Precise 5:1 turndown ratio automatically adjusts gas input to match hot water demand, providing consistent temperatures and maximum efficiency.
Direct Vent System
Sealed combustion system draws outside air for combustion and vents exhaust through PVC piping, ensuring safe operation and installation flexibility.
Smart Control System
Advanced digital controller with self-diagnostic capabilities, temperature display, and error code readout for easy monitoring and troubleshooting.
Low NOx Emission
Environmentally friendly design meets strict emissions standards with ultra-low nitrogen oxide output for cleaner operation.
Operating Modes Explained
Standard Mode
Normal operation for typical household hot water demand with balanced efficiency and performance
Eco Mode
Energy-saving operation with slightly reduced output for maximum efficiency during low-demand periods
High Demand Mode
Maximum output setting for periods of high hot water usage such as multiple showers or filling large tubs
Vacation Mode
Low-temperature setting for extended periods of non-use while maintaining freeze protection
Recirculation Mode
Compatible with external recirculation systems for instant hot water at fixtures
Diagnostic Mode
Service mode for troubleshooting and system performance verification
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No hot water | Gas supply issue, power failure, closed water valve | Check gas supply, verify power, ensure water valves are open |
| Insufficient hot water | Undersized unit, high demand, incorrect temperature setting | Check temperature setting, reduce simultaneous usage, verify unit sizing |
| Water too hot | Temperature set too high, thermostat malfunction | Adjust temperature setting, check thermostat operation |
| Pilot won't light | Gas valve off, air in gas line, dirty pilot orifice | Ensure gas valve on, purge air from line, clean pilot assembly |
| Condensate leak | Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen drain | Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, protect from freezing |
| Unusual noises | Scale buildup, water hammer, combustion issues | Descale if needed, install water hammer arrestor, check combustion |
Error Codes
- E01: Ignition failure - Check gas supply and ignition system
- E02: Flame loss during operation - Verify gas pressure and venting
- E03: High limit switch trip - Check for restricted water flow
- E04: Water temperature sensor fault - Replace temperature sensor
- E05: Air flow switch fault - Check vent system for restrictions
- E06: Gas valve fault - Check gas valve operation and wiring
- E07: Water pressure switch fault - Verify adequate water pressure
- E08: Condensate drain fault - Clear condensate drain line
